Mauvey

Born in Ghana, and raised between the UK and Canada, artist and songwriter, MAUVEY, defies categorization with his unique blend of influences spanning Afro, pop, hip-hop, cinematic, rock, punk, alternative, and electronic genres. Drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Michael Jackson, Prince, Kanye West, Coldplay, Burna Boy, FKA TWIGS, and Labrinth, MAUVEY's sound is unmistakably his own, transcending traditional boundaries.

Born out of an obsession with storytelling, songwriting, cinema, and fashion, MAUVEY's music reflects a spectrum of emotions — anger, frustration, happiness, gratitude, and love— all intertwined with a fervent desire for the world to change. His artistry aims to distribute love, recognizing the world's struggles and the need for healing. In MAUVEY's world, love is the antidote to a broken hearted world. A simple yet powerful notion that has the potential to mend both the world and each other. Through his music, MAUVEY seeks to spread the mission of love.

MAUVEY kicks off 2024 with the release of a remix project in Spring ‘BEFORE THE ALBUM 2.5: THE REMIX’ teaming up with Juno-award winning and nominated producers including Teen Daze, Junia T and 4Korners. MAUVEY took SXSW 2024 by storm (performing 7 showcases in 5 days) and has follow-up plans for a summer festival line-up spanning the UK (including Glastonbury), Canada, and Brazil. In January 2024, MAUVEY was recognized as one of Shell Zenner’s 2024 Tips of the Year, and had support from Amazon Music with a billboard in Dundas Square, Toronto.

In 2023, MAUVEY captivated audiences with a headline performance at Isle of Wight Festival, as well as slots at Glastonbury, SXSW, New Colossus New York, Focus Wales, Capitol Hill Block Party Seattle, Treefort Festival, Big Sound Australia, and Music Matters Singapore.
